Congratulations!

You have just found the right DJ for your event, whether that’s a wedding, birthday party or a company event – one less thing you have to worry about!

Now you probably want to know why you will choose me. Let’s find out with a couple of simple questions:

How do you make sure everything runs smoothly on our big day?

By being on the same page with you all the way. We begin way before the day of the event, with a personal video call. We get to know each other and discuss all the important questions around the required equipment, schedule and of course music. Once we’ve settled how your big day is going to go down, you will receive a written contract.

From that point on you won’t have to take care of anything else: I will prepare my music selection, get in contact with your best man / maid of honor if needed, and arrive early on the day of the event to ensure I have enough time for setting up and sound check. When your guests enter the venue, everything is set up properly and they are welcomed by the music of your choice. I will play for as long as you’d like (or as long as the venue stays open) – My parties are always open-ended!

I’m also prepared for the worst-case scenario: In case I have an accident or become otherwise incapacitated short-notice, I can rely on a solid network of experienced DJs to pick up the slack.

What are you offering specifically?

I arrive at your venue fully equipped with a professional audio system for up to 120 guests, lighting, DJ booth, two wireless microphones and smoke machine. The only thing I need from the venue is power. If needed, I can also provide a compact secondary set of speakers to bring the music to another room or a terrace. I carry backups for all critical parts of the equipment in case anything breaks down.

If you booked a venue offering sound and light equipment, I can use that as well, instead of bringing my own. I can also connect to a projector and play music from phones or thumb drives, to help with speeches and presentations that involve sound. Of course, you can also go karaoke on the mics.

Equipment aside, the most important thing is the song selection. I maintain a music library of over 17’000 tracks and counting. It includes almost everything that’s made the rounds in the last 60 years: Major hits of every decade, golden oldies, hip hop, rock, pop, EDM, top40, and of course relaxed lounge and jazz beats for stylish background music.

Your guests want to request songs? No problem! Song requests are a great way for me to get to know the guests and their preferences. If the venue is offering wifi, I can play any song that I might not have in stock.

Feel free to check out this mix for a little glimpse into my repertoire.

Can’t we just use a Spotify playlist instead of a DJ?

Due to cost and for the sake of simplicity, some people consider not using a DJ and just hooking up their phone to some speakers they bring themselves. In this handy chart I would like to show you why that isn’t a very good idea:

DJPlaylist
Has a great sense for the atmosphere in the room and guides the audience through a wide spectrum of genresA random mix of songs that maybe strike a chord with the audience, and maybe not
Song requests are seamlessly added to the mixFights about who gets to play the next song are almost guaranteed. Songs might get skipped mid-way, 50 Cent gets followed by Rammstein, and then onto folk music
Brings their own equipment and sets it upCarry and set up speakers yourselves
Professional audio equipment suitable for club-level volumeHome stereo systems are not made for this kind of volume
A friendly face at the DJ boothA soulless device with a touch screen
Neither you nor your guests have to take care of anythingOne of your guests will alway need to have an eye (or ear) on the music

Let’s hear from those that didn’t pick the playlist

Dominik is super friendly, able to adapt to the circumstances and reads the crowd incredibly well. We gave him a pretty messed up list of our favourite songs and he managed to create the perfect mix from them and we danced like crazy. His restrained personality is perfect for weddings. His great sound and light system makes you feel like you’re on a proper dance floor at a club. We can recommend him whole-heartedly and would book him again anytime.

Daniela & Theo

We couldn’t have had a better DJ for our wedding. We had the perfect music all day long and in the evening the dance floor was packed. The smoke machine, the lighting, and sound system he brought were brilliant. If we ever need a DJ again, we would book him immediately and also recommend him to our friends.

Cornelius & Katharina

Thank you for an unforgettable wedding. As soon as DJ Felis arrived, I was at ease and could really go at it on the dance floor with my guests. Aside from the great music being an instant party starter, it was his calm manner that I loved about him.

Katja & Pierre

We came into contact with Dominik because a renowned wedding DJ recommended him. We were instantly amazed. He didn’t have a great deal of experience back then, but you didn’t notice that for one second. It began with the planning which was very professional and straight-forward. And at the wedding itself he was able to enchant both us and our guests completely. The dance floor was packed all the time and we were in high spirits throughout. We have seen many other DJs that had a lot more experience, but didn’t manage as well as Dominik. We would recommend him anytime and whole-heartedly. A great DJ and an amazing person. Thank you very much, dear Dominik!

And who are you?

A good question.

I’m Dominik, 31 years old, and live in Fahrwangen, Switzerland, close to beautiful lake Hallwil. I have been rocking wedding dance floors since 2020.

Being a completely unadept dancer, I have always felt more comfortable off the dance floor at parties. I preferred the place where the music came from, rather than where it arrived. So from my early teen years onward, I loved providing music for a myriad of events like birthdays, school and later office parties, improving my skills and growing my music library in the process.

In mid-2019 I decided take the next step in «Project DJ» and expand my potential customer base beyond my friends and co-workers. So I got professional sound and light equipment, learned how to use it and started networking with experienced DJs, who patienly answered my questions and even showed me the ropes at some of their own gigs.

Packed with knowledge and equipment, I had my first wedding gig in February of 2020. It hasn’t always been easy during the two years of the pandemic but there were still some opportunities for parties. I used the time to hone my skills and aquire additional gear that I was lacking. Since 2022 and the end of the restrictions I am at the decks regularly, having done around 40 gigs totally, one of which was a one-week stay as a resident DJ at a vacation resort in Cyprus.

By the way, if you are also looking for a photographer, I can recommend my passionate colleague Roger. He would love to accompany your wedding with his camera (website in German only).

What about the price?

You will receive a contract with a fixed price, no fine-print or lists of optional extras like with some German car makers. I am always there for the full duration of your event, no matter how long it takes, and at no extra cost if the party takes longer than anticipated.

Usually the price is around CHF 1’500 and depends mostly on the required equipment and the distance to the venue. I don’t do seasonal pricing (i.e. more expensive in the summer).

If I was able to capture your attention until this point, I guess the best way forward is to conact me. I’m looking forward to your message!

And in case you’re wondering: The name Felis stems from the scientific name of the cat – Felis Catus.
